The Public Sector headhunter (PESB) on Wednesday selected Prem Sagar Mishra for the post of Chairman and Managing Director, Eastern Coalfields Limited (ECL). Subject to requisite clearances Mishra may replace S Chakravarty, the outgoing CMD retiring in March 2018. Currently, he serves as Director (Production & Planning), OMDC (Lien with CIL). Altogether seven members appeared before PESB for the interview namely; Gunadhar Pandey (Dir (Tech), NCL); Bhola Nath Shukla (Dir (Tech), ECL); Prem Sagar Mishra (Dir (Production & Planning), OMDC (Lien with CIL)); Om Prakash Singh (Dir (Tech), MCL); Kaushelendra Kumar Mishra (GM, CCL); Alok Kumar Mehta (ED, NMDC) and Kaushal Bhaduri (AGM, NTPC). Mishra joined OMDC in November 2015. He also serves as General Manager in Bharat Coal Limited, Dy Chief Mining Engineer/Project Officer in Central Coalfield Limited and Mining Engineer in South Eastern Coalfield Limited for almost sixteen years. Mishra is an alumnus of Indian Institute of Technology (Indian School of Mines), Dhanbad.
