Presently, Gaurav Dwivedi is working in the parent cadre i.e. Chhattisgarh. The Centre had, in June 2021, empaneled him for holding an Additional Secretary or AS equivalent post in the Govt of India. 

If some well-placed sources are to be believed Dwivedi will hold the CEO post on a lien basis instead of resigning from the IAS. 

Previously, Dwivedi has also been a faculty member at the IAS Training Academy, LBSNAA, Mussoorie and headed MyGov (Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology) as its CEO which is responsible for managing the GoI's citizen engagement platform. He is also a recipient of the Prime Minister's Award for Excellence in Administration.
