Indianmandarins has learnt that a post-retirement berth for Surender Singh (IPS:1980:WB) looks like a foregone conclusion. Singh is scheduled to retire on August 31 this year as DG of the Central Industrial Security Force.
Although it is widely speculated that he may be made a UPSC Member in September, it does not look convincing as two former IPS officers - former Delhi Police Commissioner and former RAW chief - are already serving there. The possibility of a third member from IPS appears unlikely.
While the possibility of Singh becoming a UPSC Member may be ruled out, it looks certain he may be accommodated somewhere, somehow.
