Prime Minister Narendra Modi is likely to review performance of his ministers and ministry’s work over the coming few weeks. This review meeting is important as performance of his ministers will be discussed in here however there is still 3-4 months left for the Modi government to complete an year of its second term. It will also seek suggestion for improving condition of Indian economy.

This had been the common practice of the Modi government even during the previous tenure but just before proposed reshuffle, this exercise becomes all the more important. Sources said that the PM wanted to see the performance of his ministers before some changes are enacted in his team. A few ministers may go; a few are likely to get their ministries changed and a few new ministers are likely to be inducted including from allies.

Union home ministry is generally perceived to be the best performing ministry but there are several ministries whose performance is not upto the mark even for commoners.

If sources are to be believed then the performance of Union law minister Ravi Shankar Prashad and Union HRD minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nisank and finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman have been some of the worst performing ministries. It is not that their performance will be assessed but what action has been taken will also be looked upon.

Reshuffle in the Modi government has been long due but it was not happening somehow but sources said that the meeting of council of minister will help the PM to firm up his mind on certain issues. Changes will have bearings of this meeting.
