New Delhi (17.07.2023): Power Finance Corporation Limited CMD (Addl. Charge) and Director (Finance) Parminder Chopra has been bestowed upon the prestigious ‘Icon of the Year’ award by the Institute of Cost Accountants of India for being a role model for the profession by achieving tremendous success in the business enterprises and by contributing significantly to the cause of Business, Society and the Nation. Award was presented to her by Union Minister of Law and Justice & Minister of State for Culture and Parliamentary Affairs Arjun Ram Meghwal at an event held on July 14, 2023 in New Delhi.
Chopra is a qualified Cost Accountant and is holder of Post Graduate Diploma in Business Management. In her illustrious career spanning more than three and half decades, Chopra has held various critical positions in PFC since the year 2005 and earlier in power sector majors NHPC and PGCIL. Her visionary approach, meticulous financial planning, and sound decision making have contributed significantly to PFC’s sustained growth and profitability.
Chopra is playing a crucial role in financing India’s energy transition goals apart from funding power & infrastructure sectors and also in implementing key power sector initiatives of the Government of India including Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS) and Late Payment Surcharge (LPS) rules. She has also played a key role in the successful implementation of Rs 1.12 trillion Liquidity Infusion Scheme (LIS) for power distribution sector, which was rolled out as part of Aatmanirbhar Bharat initiative.
