On October 11, the PESB interviewed eight top executives for the post of Director (Operations), Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (PGCIL).
Everything appeared normal till the PESB recommendation was published on its website around 04 pm announcing the selection of Ms. Seema Gupta (ED, PGCIL) for the job.
However, the sudden disappearance of the PESB recommendation from its website on October 12 sent shock waves among PSU executives and the selected candidate wondered whether she may at all get the job.
After a full day of wild speculations and various theories, the matter came to rest only when the website restored the name of the selected candidate.
Call it a case of a technical problem or an inadvertent error, such incidents deserve to be avoided in the larger interest of maintaining the sanctity of PESB selection.
