The Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel National Police Academy (SVPNPA, Hyderabad) invited anti-corruption crusader Sanjeev Chaturvedi to lecture at a three-day Course on Anti-Corruption & Preventive Vigilance" held between 09-11 October at the Academy premises in Hyderabad.
Chaturvedi delivered the lecture on "The Challenges of Anti-Corruption Action: Blowbacks and Bouquets." It was attended by about 40 officers from various enforcement agencies including ED, IB, SSB, Anti-Corruption Bureau of state Govts and delegates included senior officers from IPS, IFS and IRS.
Detailing the audience about his experience in the fight against corruption in Haryana and then in AIIMS, Delhi, he said,"Let us not be daunted by any kind of witch hunting and we have to be prepared to undergo any sacrifice to uphold rule of law and sanctity of constitutional views so as to strengthen confidence of general public in democratic polity."
The SVPNA invitation to Chaturvedi has triggered speculations in power corridors whether his presence at the workshop was officially sanctioned at the top and whether he is out of the undeclared list of the persona non grata. It may be recalled that earlier Chaturvedi had been frequently invited by IAS, IPS and IFS academies but for some time past, invitations stopped him as his battle with central authorities escalated.
