Centre may pick up Manoj Kumar Parida
(IAS:1986:UT) as the new Chief Secretary of Govt of NCT of Delhi. The post
fell vacant after the appointment of Anshu
Prakash (IAS:1986:UT) as Additional Secretary in the Department of Telecom. Parida, Prakash’s batchmate, is Additional
Chief Secretary, Home, PWD & General Administration Department. He has
already served as CS, Puduchhery. Also in the race to become CS is Naresh Kumar (IAS:1987:UT) who is
currently serving as the Chairman of New Delhi Municipal Council (NMDC). Prakash’s transfer is being described as “not
exactly rewardingâ€. He was appointed Chief Secretary of Delhi in December last
year. He hit headlines in February this year when he was allegedly assaulted at
the hands of AAP MLAs at a midnight meeting at CM Arvind Kejriwal’s residence.
