As Indianmandarins
had reported earlier (October 31, 2018), senior IAS officer, Ms. AparajitaSarangi (IAS:1994:OR), has been freed as the Prime Minister consented to her
VRS application last Friday. Therefore, she will be free to take a plunge
in politics. Immediately
after the Centre’s consent, she announced on her official Twitter handle: “I am
grateful to our Hon'ble Prime Minister for his kind acceptance and approval of
VRS application……I seek the blessings of Lord Jagannath and good wishes of
all……I look forward to the next journey with enthusiasm, positivity, and
optimism.â€. On
Wednesday, the Odisha Govt had given the go-ahead to her VRS application. She
had applied for it on September 15. Earlier,
Sarangi was serving as a joint secretary (MGNREGA), Ministry of Rural
Development, and her five-year tenure on central deputation had ended in
August. Though a native of Bihar, 49-year-old Sarangi is married to her
batchmate Santosh Sarangi from Orissa. Reportedly,
she will soon join the BJP ahead of 2019 Lok Sabha elections and may contest
the election from Bhubaneshwar where the common people were greatly impressed
by her work.
