60 senior IAS officers waiting their turn for secretary-level posting in Govt
of India it appears a completely adverse ratio between the number of aspirants,
claimants and number of posts NaMo administration has to offer. In addition, two
more Secretary-level posts are on offer which are encadred for Indian Legal
Service and Indian Foreign Service cadre officers. Only one
post is anticipated to be offered to an IAS officer this month as Shobhana K Pattanayak (IAS:1982:KN), Secretary Agriculture
Co-operation & Farmers Welfare is retiring this month end. The post of Secretary, Panchayati Raj too lying vacant. Reportedly, the
Govt of India may notify the appointment to secretary-level posts by the month
end. Though few other posts are also on offer e.g. NHAI and IWAI etc but they
are all under process and may take couple of weeks to be filled up. It may
be underlined that Binoy Kumar (IAS:1983:TG) and Pushpa Subramanyam
(IAS:1985:AP), on Friday, assumed offices as Secretary Steel and Food
Processing respectively.
