Bhubaneshwar (28.03.2023): The Centre has asked Odisha government to take appropriate action against V Karthikeya Pandian (IAS: 2000: OD), private secretary to Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on allegation of violation of All India Services Conduct (AISC) Rules, 1948. However, he is being dubbed as political successor of CM Navin Patnaik.
It may be underlined that Pandian is considered as the most powerful IAS officer and alter ego of Odisha CM.
The DoPT directed OdishaChief Secretary Pradeep Kumar Jena (IAS: 1989: OD) to take ‘action as appropriate’ by forwarding the complaint submitted by BJP Lok Sabha MP Aparajita Sarangi (Retd IAS: 1994: OD) and party State president Manmohan Samal.
Presenting photographs and videos in support of their allegations, both Sarangi and Samal stated in their complaint that Pandian is moving around the State using State plane/helicopter and attending public reception. He is announcing new projects on the instructions of the CM. This is done in clear violation of rules.
