Uttarakhand police are gearing up for a critical meeting of the DGPs of 7 northern states and the heads of Central Para Military Forces in these states. The meeting which is scheduled for April 21 and will focus on issues like terrorism, crime, cybercrime, drugs and inter-state gangs active in the region.
The meeting will be attended by police chiefs of Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Haryana, Punjab, Delhi, and Uttarakhand.
After Shimla and Lucknow, this is the third meeting of the senior police and paramilitary officers of the northern states to discuss the present scenario and the future tactics to maintain law and order in the belt.
Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat will also attend the meeting and share his views and suggest measures to check crime.
Uttarakhand ADG Law and Order Ashok Kumar (IPS:1989: UD) said serious matters will be discussed and important data related to criminals and criminal activities will be exchanged among the officers. He added that issues which were common to all the seven states will be given a priority in these meetings and measures will be discussed to jointly handle the situation and bring down the crime graph.
Further, issues which were discussed and finalized in the previous meetings will also be raised and the progress in these matters will be reviewed by all the senior officers.
