New Delhi (23.01.2025): The Centre on Thursday cleared empanelment of ninety-one Indian Revenue Service (Income Tax) officers, up to 1999 batch having completed 25 years' service, for promotion to the grade of Principal Commissioner of Income Tax (PCIT) for the panel year 2024.
Accordingly, seventy-four names were placed in the main panel, ten were placed in the “extended panel” while seven were placed in the ‘sealed covers’. Altogether six cases were deferred for the panel year while one officer denied empanelment whereas one was not considered.

Further, ten officers were placed in the “extended panel” to be operated in the event officers included in the Main/Extended Panel are not available for promotion due to retirement/away on deputation during the vacancy year 2024.
