New Delhi (17.05.2023): The plan is afoot to recruit people from private sector at joint secretary, director and deputy secretary level on contractual basis in 12 government departments. The recruitment process will start from May 20, 2023.

DoPT has asked Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) for a lateral entry in the 12 government departments from the private sector. The proposed vacancies will be filled in the ministries and departments like Agriculture Cooperation and Farmer Welfare, Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Food and Public Distribution Ministry, Ministry of Heavy Industries, Higher Education Department, Ministry of Urban Development, Law and Justice Ministry, Commerce Ministry and Industries Ministry are some such ministries where these lateral entrants will be placed. Last time 10 join secretary rank officers were recruited through lateral entry.
