Indianmandarins has reliably
learnt that three names have been doing the rounds for the coveted post of
Revenue Secretary. It is learnt that the NaMo administration may announce the
name of the OSD of Department of Revenue this week - about 15 days ahead of the
retirement of the outgoing Revenue Secretary Hasmukh Adhia (IAS:1981: GJ) who
is retiring on 30 November 2018. Indianmandarins has reliably learnt
that Ajay Bhushan Pandey (IAS:1984:MH) may be named as successor to Adhia.
Pandey currently serves as CEO, UIDAI and also as Chairman of the GST Network. At the same time, Girish Chandra
Murmu's (IAS:1985:GJ) chances may not be ruled out for several reasons. He has
been made to acquire requisite experience first by induction in the Department
of Expenditure, then Additional Secretary, DFS, and later in Dept of Revenue
where he was elevated as Special Secretary. Throughout his central deputation,
Murmu was found suitable for a job under the Ministry of Finance which clearly
signals about the administrations' trust in him. If some top sources are to be
believed Petroleum Secretary M M Kutty (IAS:1985:UT) and Corporate Affairs
Secretary Injeti Srinivas (IAS:1983:OR) are also in the reckoning.
