Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar and Minister of State for Human Resource Development, Dr. Satya Pal Singh, inaugurated IIT Delhi's Technopark campus built by NBCC (India) Limited at Kundli in Sonepat. Haryana Education Minister Ram Bilas Sharma was also present on the occasion.
This extended campus of IIT Delhi has been built at a cost of Rs.177 crore and is spread over 10 acres with a built-up area of 33,200 square meters. It is equipped with IT-enabled services, a 466-seater auditorium, a five-story residential block, a four-story academic block and a basement parking with a capacity of 365 cars.
"The establishment heralds another new chapter in country's march towards attaining greater achievements in science and technology," said NBCC Chairman and Managing Director Dr. Anoop Kumar Mittal.
"The extended campus has been created as a modern gurukul which will enable IIT Delhi to enhance teaching-learning and pedagogical research activities", he added.
