The NaMo administration on Wednesday announced the extension in tenure of foreign assignment of Dr Rakesh Kumar (IAS:1992:UD) beyond the permissible tenure of seven years outside the cadre. Dr Kumar is currently posted at Delhi as Head, Strategic Planning and State Outreach in the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).
His tenure out of his cadre state (Uttarakhand) had ended on January 31 this year but exceptionally he got extension in relaxation of the permissible tenure outside the cadre.
