April 29, 2021: The cyber cell of Mumbai Police once again summoned senior IPS officer Rashmi Shukla (IPS:1988:MH) to appear by May 3 for interrogation in connection to the alleged illegal phone tapping case. Presently, she is posted as ADG, CRPF in Hyderabad. Shukla has been accused in the phone tapping case of political leaders and senior officials illegally when she was heading the Maharashtra intelligence department. Shukla was earlier asked to join questioning on April 28 though she didn't turn up citing the Coronavirus pandemic. Instead, she had requested to send her questionnaire to not delay the investigation. She was embroiled in the controversy after former Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis revealed that Shukla had purportedly written a letter to the then Maharashtra DGP about alleged corruption in transfers in the police department.
