Putting speculations over her joining at rest, Ms. Meera Borwankar (IPS:1982:MH) on Monday took over as new Director General of Bureau of Police Research & Development (BPR&D).
Having appointed to the post on 08 April 2016, Ms. Borwankar took one and a half month for personal reasons to take over the charge. Her arrival brought cheers to the organization as the top post was vacant since December 01, 2015.
Central Police Organisations (CPOs) have now a fair share in women's representation at the top. Three CPOs are currently being headed by women: National Police Academy (NPA) is headed by Ms. Aruna M Bahuguna (IPS:1979:AP), Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) is being headed by Ms. Archana Ramasundaram (IPS:1980:TN) and Ms. Borwankar took over the baton of BPR&D yesterday.
