Indianmandarins has reliably learnt that B N Mohapatra (IRAS:1980), Additional Member (Finance) in Railway Board, may be appointed the Financial Commissioner (FC) of Railway Board. The outgoing FC Shahzad Shah (IRAS:1979) is all set to superannuate on 28 February 2017.
Though B B Verma (IRAS:1979), Additional Member (Planning) in Railway Board, is also said be a claimant for the top job, two things appear to be unfavorable to his prospects: first he has only five months to retire, and secondly, he has already been named as Member, Railway Claims Tribunal which gives him a post-retirement engagement for another two yrs (fixed tenure).
