The two young ladies are said to have brokered a deal between themselves and presented it to Akhilesh and Rahul to put their signatures to it. Under the deal, the SP will contest 298 of the 403 seats, including, it is learnt, a chunk of the 10 seats that make up the Lok Sabha constituencies of Rae Bareli, represented by Congress president Sonia Gandhi, and Amethi, from where the party vice-president, Rahul Gandhi, is MP. The Congress will put up candidates for the remaining 105 constituencies.
