New Delhi (30.07.2025):The New Delhi establishment on Tuesday announced two significant appointments in the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) effective upon the incumbents' superannuation on August 31, 2025.
Sudhakar Dalela (IFS: 1993) has been designated as the new Secretary (Economic Relations). He will succeed Dammu Ravi (IFS: 1989).
In this role, Dalela will lead the Economic Relations Division which plays a key role in negotiating and advancing India's bilateral trade and investment agreements, safeguards India's economic interests within international forums and organizations and coordinates and executes India's foreign aid and development initiatives.
Sibi George (IFS: 1993) has been appointed as Secretary (West) vice Tanmaya Lal (IFS: 1991).
As Secretary (West), George will be tasked with overseeing India's comprehensive diplomatic relations and foreign policy with a designated group of nations, notably including those in Western Europe. In addition, George will also be managing bilateral and multilateral engagements while addressing political, economic, cultural, and consular affairs with these countries.
