Bengal CM Mamta Banerjee is known to be a mercurial person. She's taken the central government's demonetization move as a personal affront. This has made her describe the demonetization process as illegal and unconstitutional. Her highly personalized opinion has made her an accuser as well as the judge on the issue. In her latest move to escalate confrontation with the centre, she is said to have directed her officials not to participate in any central government meeting. Accordingly, officials have been advised down to the DM level to boycott central functions and meetings. Earlier, she had made state universities not to participate in any deliberation with the UGC.
