Mumbai (29.11.2025): The Maharashtra government has named
Rajesh Aggarwal (IAS: 1989: MH) as the new Chief Secretary replacing Rajesh
Kumar (IAS: 1988: MH), whose three-month extension will expire on November 30,
2025. Aggarwal will occupy the chair until November next year. Aggarwal is currently serving as Additional Chief Secretary
(Administrative Innovation, Excellence and Good Governance) in the General
Administration Department (GAD). The Centre on 29.10.2025 repatriated Rajesh Aggarwal,
Secretary, Department of Persons with Disabilities in the Union Ministry of
Social Justice and Empowerment, to Maharashtra. Kumar was due to retire on
August 30, 2025 but received a three-month extension that ends tomorrow. He
took charge as the as the CS in June this year, after the retirement of the
then CS Sujata Saunik. ALSO READ
