Legal wrangle & bureaucracy: Purportedly CBI’s longest-ever ‘written submission’ draws attention

New Delhi (20.12.2023): A section of senior legal experts in Lutyens Delhi as well as a section of bureaucrats are abuzz about one of the latest ‘written submissions’ filed by the Central Bureau of Investigations (CBI) before the Delhi High Court. This is considered to be the longest-ever ‘written submission’ running into 250 pages in a high-profile case that may be one the decisive judgements for a set of bureaucrats and governance & administration in general.

Presumably, the longest-ever ‘written submission’ because generally the higher judiciary expects the same to be précised enough and to be not more than 3 to 5 pages. Contrary to the practice and unwritten norm, the 250-pages-long submission underscores the criticality of the case.

It may be underlined that the Delhi High Court has already kept the judgement reserved on November 22, 2023.
