New Delhi (05.02.2021): In a major move, the Centre has once again invited applications, for Director & Joint Secretary level posts, from talented, motivated candidates from private sector “willing to contribute towards nation-building“. The lateral entry mode is considered as an ambitious step of the NaMo administration to bring in fresh talent in the bureaucracy.

This is the second phase of Centres’ endeavour to induct more private sector specialists into different government departments at the crucial decision-making level of Joint Secretaries and Directors on contract basis in various ministries and departments namely; Commerce & Industry, Financial Services, Economic Affairs, Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, Law & Justice, School Education & Literacy, Higher Education, Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution, Health & Family Welfare, Road Transport & Highways, Jal Shakti, Civil Aviation and in the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship.

The detailed advertisement and instructions to the candidates will be uploaded on the Union Public Service Commission’s website on February 06, 2021. Interested candidates can apply for the posts till March 22, 2021. Candidates will be short-listed for Interview.

It may be underlined that the Ministry of Personnel had in June 2018 invited applications for ten joint secretary-rank posts through lateral entry.
