New Delhi (05.03.2022): Indianmandarins has learned that Adviser to Prime Minister Bhaskar Khulbe (Retd IAS:1983:WB) may continue for another term on the completion of his current two-year term (on a contract basis).
However, his reemployment may go through a twist for which a precedent already exists.
It may be recalled that the government had on 21 February 2020 appointed Bhaskar Khulbe and Amarjit Sinha (Retd IAS:1983:BH) as Advisers to Prime Minister for an initial period of two years ending 21.02.2022.
Since Khulbe's term ended on February 20, 2022, his name was dropped from the list of PMO officers on the website.
However, officials wonder why drop the name of Khulbe from the list of PMO officials if he was to be re-engaged. Why the discontinuity is the puzzle officials are trying to figure out.
One may recall that the same thing happened before as well. After Khulbe retired upon completing the extended six-month tenure as Secretary, PMO in September 2019, there was a gap/discontinuity of four months before Khulbe was roped in on a contract basis with PMO as Adviser.
Keeping in view this precedent, it is speculated that after a pause for weeks or months, Khulbe may be reemployed on a contract basis as before.
