Weeks before his retirement Jitesh Khosla (IAS:AM:1979) has been named as Adviser to Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi. The incumbent Chief Secretary to the Government of Assam Khosla is scheduled for superannuation on May 31. Khosla served as Chief Secretary to the Govt of Assam w.e.f. October 01, 2013.
It seems that there has been a convention in Assam to benefit the government with the experience of erstwhile Chief Secretaries. The previous Chief Secretary Prem Prasad Varma (Rtd IAS:1978:AM) too was appointed as Advisor to CM post his retirement.
