the power corridors, Haryana cadre senior IAS officer Keshni Anand Arora
(IAS:1983:HY) is being seen as Chief Secretary-in-waiting. The incumbent Chief
Secretary, D S Dhesi (IAS:1982:HY), is expected to move to the centre sooner or
later. Dhesi
is empanelled for posting as Secretary in the Govt of India but he may spend
some more time in Haryana. He was brought back to the state when Jagdish
Khattar became the CM. Khattar is believed to be keen on retaining Dhesi in the
state. She had been ordered (on 31 August 2015) to take over as Additional
Secretary in NITI Aayog which was further cancelled on 22 September 2015. She
was sent back to her parent cadre prematurely whereas her central deputation
was to end in 2018. Recent incidents (the Jat reservation agitation) and abrupt
replacement of high-profile DGP Y P Singhal have triggered the current rumor
that the CS too may be changed in Haryana. In case it proves true, Ms. Arora
would have a better prospect for the top job.
