New Delhi (02.03.2022): Arwind Kejriwal government implemented New Liquor Policy in Delhi in November 2021. It allowed the sale of liquor at a concessional price. The liquor shops displayed hoardings across the city flaunting the idea that Buy One Get One FREE. The shops got overcrowded. Corona wave has declined in the city but it is not fully over. So it rang an alarm bell in the Excise Department and the Delhi government. Excise Commissioner of Delhi government issued an order withdrawing concessional sale of liquor immediately. The AAP government is on the backfoot. Arwind Kejriwal hyped the assembly election campaign in Punjab for six months that he would make the state free from the impact of drugs and liquor. In Delhi AAP government was proposing Buy One Get One Free liquor bottles. Having withdrawn this concessional liquor rule the government is doing some course corrections.
