Even though he retired long ago, he has been on an extended tenure as principal chief secretary to the Gujarat CM. After NaMo moved to Delhi, there were speculations that he might also be moved to the national capital. Instead, he was kept stationed as Anandiben's chief principal secretary. Even under new CM Vijay Rupani, he continues to hold the same post.
