Previously he served in BSF where he was, in June 2016, elevated (in-situ) from DIG to IG on promotion. In NDRF Lokku will replace his batchmate Amarendra Kumar Sengar (IPS:UP) who was moved to MHA as OSD to Home Minister Rajnath Singh this week.
