J&K Governor N N Vohra administered the oath of office to the new chief vigilance commissioner (CVC), P L Gupta, and the vigilance commissioner (VC), Gazzanfer Hussain, at a ceremony in Srinagar on October 27.
As Gupta has rich experience of working as the state vigilance officer, the governor hoped that the commission shall become effectively functional without any loss of time.
Dr. Nirmal Singh, deputy chief minister; Omar Abdullah, former chief minister; Khurshid Ahmad Ganai, state chief information commissioner; Pramod Kumar Jain, vice-chairman, J&K IMPARD; B. B. Vyas, chief secretary; and Jeet Lal Gupta, chairperson, State Commission for Backward Classes were among those present on the occasion.
