New Delhi (29.01.2025):Jayant Singh (IRTS: 1993), who was serving as member in NITI Ayog, has been appointed as the chairman of Land Ports Authority of India (LPAI) for a period of five years. LPAI builds land ports on borders to provide secure, seamless and efficient systems for cargo and passenger movement.
There are currently eleven land ports operational at Attari, Agartala, Dawki, Petrapole, Raxaul, Rupaidiha, Jogbani, Moreh, Sutarkandi, Srimantapur and PTB at Dera Baba Nanak. In 2023-24, Land Ports in India facilitated trade (import and export) worth Rs 70,952 crore till March 2024.
