New Delhi (28.01.2026): The All-India body of Indian Revenue Service Association, Income Tax Cadre, has elected its new office bearers. Banita Devi Naorem (IRS IT: 1998) has been appointed as President of the association, Deepshikha Sharma (IRS IT: 2000) as General Secretary and Ankur Jain (IRS IT: 2020) as Joint General Secretary. These newly elected office bearers called on Ravi Agrawal (IRS IT: 1988), Chairman, CBDT, Sanjay Bahadur (IRS IT: 1989), Member (IT), CBDT and Mona Singh (IRS IT: 1990), Member (A&J), CBDT and presented a copy of Kautilya’s ‘The Arthashastra’ on the occasion.
The IRS Association represents Group A officers in the Income Tax acting as a professional body for welfare, career development, and policy feedback to the government. It facilitates camaraderie through events, provides financial aid, and maintains a dialogue with the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) on administrative issues.
The association supports its members on service matters, including addressing welfare issues and fostering communication between senior and junior officers. The Association interacts with the government to improve tax administration. It advocates for officer welfare and, in instances, addresses issues related to safety or, on occasion, takes stances on matters concerning the service.
