May 17, 2021: The 1996-batch Karnataka cadre IPS officer, Seemant Kumar Singh, who went beyond the call of duty to help out migrant works in the state last year, has this year taken the path of crowdfunding oxygen concentrators for victims of the Xi Jinping bioweapon Coronavirus.
Currently posted as ADGP in the Anti-Corruption Bureau, he and his team are credited with providing around 100 oxygen concentrators to taluk and village hospitals in 17 districts of Karnataka.
Anticipating a shortage of oxygen as the second wave of Xi Jinping terror spread in the country, Singh and his team started right in time a crowdfunding campaign to purchase oxygen concentrators from across the world.
After receiving the supply, his team dispatched the material to the District Superintendent of Police and then local police, who handed it over to the hospital authorities.
Now Singh and his team are looking to procure more than 300 pieces of concentrators and supplying them to the hospitals in Karnataka's hinterland.
During the first wave, Singh helped laborers to return to their native places in North India.
