Even though he is said to have cited personal reasons for seeking the VRS, he appears to be keen that his request from being relieved from the government be processed at the earliest. In meetings with DGP & ACS of the state, he reportedly requested to waive off the notice period (3-months) as he desired to work for rural development post retirement. He has reportedly adopted a village in Mehbubnagar district of Telangana state and is keen on developing it. Incidentally, he headed the Satyam scandal probe during his illustrious career.
