IPS officer debarred from central deputation & foreign assignment

46669New Delhi (27.03.2025): The Centre on Monday recalled its decision (dated 04.10.2024) of appointing Akhil Chaudhary (IPS: 2012: PB) as Superintendent of Police in Bureau of Police Research & Development (BPR&D). The government not only cancelled his appointment but also debarred from central deputation and foreign assignments/consultancies for a period of 5 years. The reason for his debarment is not known as yet but insiders believe that Chaudhary might have requested for repatriation within a few months of his appointment in BPR&D which would have prompted the Centre to recall its decision and debarment from deputation.
