New Delhi (24.02.2024): The Lieutenant Governor of Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday appointed Arun Kumar Chowdhary (IPS: 1991: AGMUT) as Chairman, Public Service Commission for the Union territory of Jammu and Kashmir. Chowdhary brings with him a vast experience of administration while serving as J&K Cadre IPS officer who later became part of AGMUT Cadre post  abrogation of Article 370 in the state.

A K Chowdhary replaces Satish Chandra (Retd IAS 1986: AP) who completed his tenure in December last year and later became Chairman of the RERA in J&K.

As per the terms of service Chowdhary is scheduled to superannuate in August 2024 but  having appointed as Chairman of J&K PCS he gets a fresh lease of career as he will continue in the office till sixty two years of age i.e. August 2026.
