india-and-us-enter-a-phase-of-intense-relationship  Even as People's Republic of China (PRC) moves to play the vanguard role in the protection of globalization ( as was reflected in Chinese president Xi Jinping statement at Davos favoring globalization that has immensely benefited China and also, by default, made it more arrogant and hamhanded), new US President Donald Trump, as was expected, has set in motion a regime of bilateralism that will trigger a better and enhanced cooperation between the US and India. On Tuesday, Trump killed the process of Trans-Pacific Partnership. This has by default set the stage for India and US to raise their bilateral trade turnover to $500 billion over the next four years from the current level of a little over $100 billion; by 2025, expect India and the US to have a bilateral trade turnover of $one trillion. In terms of GDP, Indian industry, driven as it is by innovations and creativity of our young boys and girls, will accelerate the GDP growth rate from the current 7 percent to 11-12 percent. Immediately after killing the TPP, Trump called Prime Minister Narendra Modi and shared with his ideas of bettering Indo-US relationship. He told Naren that the U.S. considers India as "a true friend and a partner in addressing challenges around the world." According to a statement from the White House, "the two discussed opportunities to strengthen the partnership between the United States and India in broad areas such as the economy and defense."  It said Trump looked forward to hosting Modi later this year. "They also discussed security in the region of South and Central Asia. President Trump and Prime Minister Modi resolved that the United States and India stand shoulder-to-shoulder in the global fight against terrorism," said the statement. Addressing an event organized by the Republican Hindu Coalition in October last, Trump had said that he "looked forward to working with Prime Minister Narendra Modi," whom he described as "very energetic in reforming India's bureaucracy." "Great man. I applaud him for doing so,"  Trump had said. Describing himself as a "big fan of Hindu….a big fan of India", he had then said that "the Indian and Hindu community would have a true friend in the White House," if he was elected the President. On November 9, Modi was the fifth world leader to speak to Trump after he won the election. Modi, in a series of tweets, said the two had "agreed to work closely in the coming days to further strengthen our bilateral ties." Follow Narendra Modi ✔ @narendramodi Had a
