Thiruvananthapuram (12.11.2024):The Kerala government suspended two IAS officers – Kerala Industries and Commerce Director K Gopalakrishnan (IAS: 2013: KL) and Agriculture Department Special Secretary N Prasanth (IAS: 2007: KL) who have been at the centre of controversy.
As Kerala IAS officers’ spat goes public, the government suspended the one who vented online, Gopalakrishnan indulged in controversy following the formation of “Mallu Hindu Officers” WhatsApp group while Prasanth created controversy over social media for three days by making several posts against another IAS officer – Additional Chief Secretary A Jayathilak (IAS: 1991: KL).
Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan suspended these two IAS officers based on report from Chief Secretary Sarada Muraleedharan (IAS: 1990: KL). The “Mallu Hindu Officers” group was created on October 30 and it had added several senior Hindu IAS officers, which was deleted after a few hours.
