Chamu Krishna Shastry is a renowned Sanskrit scholar and organizing secretary of the RSS-affiliated Sanskrit Bharti. He has been functioning as a consultant and adviser to the HRD Ministry since the days of Smriti Irani. He is said to have resigned possibly because of some complaints of favoritism against him. Sources close to Shastry say that it is a personal decision as he has bigger plans for promotion of Sanskrit, and deny that it has anything to do with the complaints received by HRD Minister Prakash Javadekar.
