What was limited to cabinet meetings has been extended: ministers and secretaries have been instructed not to carry their cell phones at meetings of the Groups of Ministers and Secretaries. On Tuesday, the Cabinet Secretariat sent a missive to secretaries of various departments, asking them not to carry their cell phones at the meeting of ministers and secretaries of agriculture and allied sectors. As many as 10 Groups of Secretaries were formed by the government last October, with the focus on agriculture, energy and transport sectors. The PM will hold a meeting of all the groups in the next few days before the Budget Session begins on January 31.
