Chandigarh (08.10.2025): Additional Director General of
Police (ADGP) Y Puran Kumar (IPS: 2001: HY) allegedly died by suicide at his
official residence at Chandigarh sector 11. Kumar reportedly shot himself at his residence. Chandigarh
police rushed to the spot and cordoned off the area. The weapon used in suicide
has been recovered. Forensic teams are collecting the evidence at the site. IPS officer's wife Amneet P Kumar (IAS: 2001: HY) is
currently in Japan as part of the official delegation led by Haryana Chief Minister
Nayab Singh Saini.
