New Delhi (22.04.2023): The way Rahul Gandhi handed over keys of 12 Tughlaq Lane residence to the Estate officials, he appeared to be composed, unfazed and resolute to fight this battle in court of law and people’s court. A confident and with a positive body language, Rahul Gandhi gave a message in a very subtle manner. The court refused staying the conviction order that caused his disqualification from the Lok Sabha. The committee chaired by BJP MP C R Patil issued the notice to vacate the house. Priyanki Gandhi accompanying him answered many potent questions. Officials follow the rulebook but the gesture of Rahul Gandhi towards officials was not only cordial but he tried to give a message to the people across the country. In 2019, the Union Housing and Urban Affairs Ministry had amended the Public Premises (Eviction of Unauthorised Occupants) Act, 2019 but there are still many squatters in Lutyens’ Delhi.
