Chandigarh (01.10.2024): A former IRS officer Rakesh Kumar Goyal has been appointed as the new Real Estate Regulatory Authority (RERA) chief of Punjab. He was appointed to the coveted post eight months after Satya Gopal (Retd IAS: 1988: AGMUT) resigned as its chairman.Goyal was appointed member of RERA in December 2022, when Satya Gopal was appointed the chairman of the authority. However, after the resignation of Satya Gopal, he had proceeded on leave. They are considered close to Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) supremo Arvind Kejriwal.
