New Delhi (12.06.2025): Prof Gourav Vallabh, BJP spokesperson and economist, has been appointed as a member of the Economic Advisory Council to the Prime Minister (EAC-PM). The EAC-PM provides crucial inputs to the Prime Minister on a wide range of economic and developmental issues, both domestic and global. Prof Vallabh has a rich academic and professional experience to the role who taught economics at several prominent Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) and international universities. 

His nomination follows a recent shift in political allegiance. Formerly affiliated with the Congress, Prof Vallabh joined the BJP earlier this year after opposing the Congress leadership’s decision to boycott the Ram Temple consecration ceremony in Ayodhya.
