A
seven-member Group of Ministers (GoM) has been set up for boosting the growth
of the Real Estate Sector under the GST regime following a meeting of the GST
council last week on January 10. Manish Sinha, Joint Secretary (TRU-II), CBIC,
has been appointed the secretary to the group. The
following ministers have been made the members of the Group: Nitin Patel,
Deputy Chief Minister of Gujarat, as convener; Sudhir Mungantiwar, Maharashtra
Finance Minister; Krishna Byre Gowda, Karnataka Finance Minister; Dr. T.M.
Thomas Isaac, Kerala Finance Minister; Punjab Finance Minister Manpreet Singh
Badal; Rajesh Agarwal, UP Finance Minister; and Mauvin Godinho, Goa Minister of
Panchayat. The Terms of
Reference (ToR) for the Group is comprehensive.
