Gehlot picks D B Gupta as his Adviser

The Gehlot Government who had abruptly announced Rajeev Swarup (IAS:1985:RJ) as new Chief Secretary vice Devendra Bhushan Gupta (IAS:1983:RJ) last week appointed Gupta as Adviser to Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot.

It may be mentioned that Chief Secretary D B Gupta will be retiring September this year whereas Swarup will be retiring October this year.

In power corridors, it is speculated that Swarup’s tenure would be extended for at least six months whereas Gehlot may continue Gupta as his adviser beyond his retirement on 30 September 2020.
