New Delhi (20.09.2025): The corridors of Rail Bhawan were abuzz today as the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) finalized a significant reshuffle, affecting the lateral transfers and postings of four top-rung Indian Railway Management Service (IRMS) officers. The move sees a new crop of leaders taking charge as General Managers across key Zonal Railways. The new assignments are as follows:
  1. Naresh Pal Singh has been appointed as the new General Manager of North Central Railway (NCR), headquartered in Prayagraj.
  2. Uday Borwankar will take the helm as General Manager of North Eastern Railway, based in Gorakhpur.
  3. Subhransu Sekhar Mishra is set to assume the position of General Manager of Metro Railway, Kolkata.
  4. Vijay Kumar has been designated as General Manager of Central Railway, Mumbai. His appointment will be effective on September 30, 2025, upon the superannuation of the current incumbent, Dharamveer Meena.
The decision reflects the government's ongoing effort to bring new leadership to pivotal roles within the Indian Railways, a crucial move for enhancing operational efficiency and strategic management.
